according to wikipedia, Henry VIII's first child was a boy, imaginatively named Henry. but the boy died 7 weeks later. But what if the boy reached adulthood and grew to rule as Henry IX? Based on Edward VI's education, it seems likely he would've gotten a similar treatment to Elizabeth I, so pragmatic polyglot poised for a prosperous rule. Similarly, all of Henry VIII's children demonstrated notable intellect and pragmatism (Mary's coup and Irish Plantations, Elizabeth's constant use of her own hand in diplomatic matters and towing all the theological lines in the world.)

But there's one other thing- with a surving Henry XI, his father, Henry XIII would remain catholic. How would this effect england, europe, and the world?

For starters, England remains closely tied and allied to Spain, to the Habsburgs, and thus to the HRE. I have to imagine there will still be religious tension in the future and so long as Catherine has any say in Prince Henry's upbringing, he will be a pious, devout Catholic. After that though, who knows. The Reformation is still going on in Europe and England has close ties to states that ended up going Protestant in OTL. Whether one of Henry IX's heirs, or a court rival even, decides to adopt Protestantism and wants to fight for their religious freedom, could still determine whether or not England remains Catholic.

English alliances would depend a lot also from Henry IX’s wedding: if he married a French princess or a Scottish cousin is possible who England will take a separated road from Spain and Austria.

A French priness was considered for Edward VI OTL, but then the course changed to decisively pro-French. But then, post-Field of Gold Cloth a match is in the cards (though it well may be a match of Mary ending up in France, since TTL she is of little value to Henry other than a diplomatic tool like any other princess).

Would it be possible for England to remain Catholic whilst France goes Protestant?

Also, Henry of Cornwall survives, does he have children and who does he marry - is Scotland able to remain independent for longer, perhaps even into the present day?

I had the future Henry IX marrying Amalia of Cleeves (in a timeline where Henry Sr still ended up marrying Anne of Cleeves) in a timeline I wrote and having three sons, Prince Henry, the Prince of Wales, Prince Edward, the Duke of March and Prince John, the Duke of Cambridge.

It is very possible for France to go Protestant, though I am unsure if French laws would permit a non-Catholic to sit on the throne. France had a large Protestant community in OTL and if they are surrounded by hostile Catholic rivals, at the very least, I could see France tolerating Protestants in order to further fill their ranks and take on any persecuted Protestants from abroad.

That is a timeline I would love to see!
