Greek Destroyers At Matapan?

So, I was flipping through Destroyers of World War 2's Greek section, and noticed something interesting, three of the Greek Hydra class destroyers were ordered to cut off the retreating Vittorio Veneto during the Battle of Cape Matapan, but coding errors prevented this. Can anyone confirm this, and if so, would the destroyers have been able to achieve anything?

3 Greek DDs wouldn't be able to stop the retreating RM group since there were multiple CAs, CLs & DDs that would easily screen those 3 lonely Greek DDs from VV. Even worse, the Greek DDs might blunder into the 6 RM ships (2 CL & 4 DD) that were detached to assist Pola and spoil the shooting gallery that the RN had on them later in the evening.
