Some background for those who might not know much about the topic:
In the mid-1500's (about 1562) Jean Ribault along with René Goulaine de Laudonnière established a Huguenot colony on Parris Island, what is now south of Charleston, South Carolina. Ribault sailed back for supplies, however, was imprisoned in England for some time on suspicion of spying for the French in the Wars of Religion. The colonists abandoned Charlesfort due to their hardships.
However, what if Ribault was not imprisoned and he was able to resupply the Charlesfort colony. What would be the development of such a Huguenot Colony? I know the French had a policy of not allowing Protestant colonists but would they perhaps expel Huguenots to this colony? Also how would the colony come into play regarding the French and Indian War and the American Revolution?
