With a pod in 1820, how can we get an alliance between the United states, a Prussian Germany, and a modernized Qing? What smaller allies would also be part of this pact, how would the coming great war between powers go, and what will the world look like after?

Sure, it could be to counter a Franco-British-Russian-Japanese alliance, in a world where British/US relations are very frosty.

What years would the two alliances likely be solidified?
Late 1800-early 1900s

China wants an alliance vs Russia/Japan is basically the analogue of the Anglo-Japan alliance for Germany/US in the far east.

The UK takes the hardline on US expansionism in the Americas, leading the US to look to Germany as continental alliance.

Not as hard as you might think. China very naturally aligns with a US-Germany alliance in the late 19th/early 20th century, as 2/3 partners will have beef with Britain, Russia, and Japan. You need bad US-Britain relations leading to a US-Germany alliance.

Weaknesses of this alliance would include the fact that Germany is very isolated in Europe. Since Britain and Russia is a natural enemy, that makes things rough for the Germans. France is probably also hostile. They need a friendly Italy and Austria (if it exists- I suppose Austria could be part of Germany ITTL) to survive. Strength would be that each can be massively strong in their own region, and working together they can oust the more traditional powers. This is an alliance designed to attack and break down the traditional world order, with the US and Germany new to the world powers, and China having suffered humiliation in the 19th century.

Would there be any other smaller allies and in turn would the rival alliance get a little bigger? Also would this still be Entente vs Central or would they go by different names?

It would depend on who they're fighting. Austria or Italy is a good ally for Germany in this situation. Probably the Ottomans, too, recreating the OTL Central Powers. If Persia is independent and able to stand on its own, it probably doesn't like Russia and Britain and might join in. However, it's just as likely occupied. The US can probably find allies in the Western Hemisphere, especially since the UK fucking around in the Americas is a practical prerequisite of an Anglo-American War. Depending on timing, the "Big Three" may support colonial uprisings or something similar, seeing as they have far less to lose from the fall of Imperialism than France, the UK, Russia, and Japan. So you could see allies in India, or among the Boers, or Ethiopians, or in southeast asia, or any number of options there.

It all depends on the context of the war. As for a name, it will probably be named after whoever instigates the war/is attacked. So if the war starts in Europe, it may still be the Central Powers. Maybe it's more like the Allies if the US is at the center of it- the Allies vs the Entente.

Any likely concessions they'd get from victory and what would geopolitics look like in the aftermath? Also would Germany be willing to sacrifice their colonies to screw with everyone else's?

Have Austria fall apart and get partitioned between Germany and Italy, then Italy joins thr F-P War. Either of the two really.
Alternately if Bismarck gets his way and A-L stays French a Franco-Italian-German alliance works very well.

Biggest problem is getting Britain to provoke thr US but that's not impossible.

How will Italy bring the US and China closer? It's an interesting scenario but it looks like a response to a thread regarding a German Hegemony over Europe rather than a global Central powers.
