AHQ/WI: What would a 1987 Kinnock led Labour Government look like?

Assume that for whatever reason, the Conservatives lose in 1987. I suppose that a good PoD would be Thatcher taking Dennis's advice and retiring in 1986 or so, and her replacement does a poor job of electioneering, and Labour manage to get in. Let's also assume that Labour have something akin to a healthy majority, around 50 or so.

What does a Kinnock government look like? What are its priorities? Who's getting a cabinet level job? What are going to be the main policy issues to come up during its term? Are Labour able to go on and win in 1992, or earlier? Does Kinnock make an able or a good PM, does he manage to push his agenda through? How does '80s Labour manage?

I think you probably need to consider who may have replaced Thatcher to take into account what their policies might be.

In 1989, only Anthony Meyer challenged Thatcher and was very pro European integration as well as having conservative economic views.

Could Meyer have clinched the leadership when Thatcher stands down, run into the General Election on a very pro-European integration platform.

Problem is that Kinnock was also very pro Europe, and remains so, but could Meyer intend to take us into Europe whilst Kinnock remains happy with the status quo. Or does Kinnock loose his struggle with the left wing militants in the party and therefore goes into the election with a much more radical promise, somehow getting Scargill (whom he detested) onside.
