I know this might sound hard to achieve, but how can you get the three countries that would come to form the Axis Powers in OTL to become communist at a similar space of time before a potential WW2 (if it would exist in this scenario), while still having the USSR exist? Try not to go "ASB" or "impossible", be creative. Bonus points if all four can get into an alliance against the Allied Powers, what would that look like?

If Rosa Luxemburg hadn't died at a hotel alongside Karl Liebknecht then they could have turned Germany communist. Japan is near impossible given their long-standing traditions and Italy after World War I is unlikely barring a failed March on Rome.

I know it doesn't help things, but Italy post ww2 could have become Communist. As for Germany, it did go communist at some point (if East Germany counts). And with Japan, it is difficult but there was some support OTL, as the Japanese Red Army shows. Probably not the answer you wanted but still.

Don't worry, that's fine. All good suggestions.

Japan could go communist if Qing survives instead and goes the path of OTL japan.
I've also wondered if Japan could perhaps go communist given it loses the Russo-Japanese War, and a socialist movement grows despite repression from the government, which could lead to events similar to Russia in OTL (y'know, Civil War and stuff), probably earlier than the actual Russian Civil War. There actually was a socialist party in Japan founded in 1906 called the Japan Socialist Party, but it dissolved pretty quickly since there was quite a bit of infighting and it was banned by the Japanese government in 1907. Given some circumstances such as Japan losing the Russo-Japanese War, maybe this party becomes more popular and stays united. I know Japan going communist would be pretty hard to imagine and it would be unlikely, don't get me wrong, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's impossible.

I think a Qing-Russia alliance is possible if Guangxu was able to assert himself.
