AHC: Corporate America?

Basically, with a 1900 PoD, undo or prevent the Progressive movement in America, expand the powers of the robber barons or the state, and make them work hand-in-hand. What would be the results of such an unholy union?

IOTL there is a love-hate relationship between government and big money, with America swinging between its deep-seated faith in capitalism and the rights of its citizens. Currently, the economy is pretty closely married to the private sector, especially after the privatization waves of the 1980s and 1990s and the destruction of the labor unions. Part of me wonders how an America that gave in to total capitalism look like?

This is partly inspired by the 'Reds!' timeline started by JelloBiafra/Aelita, but reading through that TL with its changes made me wonder if instead of rallying the labor and socialist movement into lockstep, they failed to cooperate and basically left the field open for the Corporations to take over the USA.

Edited title to remove 'Fascist' - while a corporate oligarchy would not exactly be democratic, it's not quite Fascist either.

Cough.. Sort of have that.. Frog in pot doesn't water boils over time...

America is a corporate, big money, special interest cluster. All the while government and cronies take profit.

Insurence companies rule Healthcare..
Education has been monetized...
Retirement and corporate responsibility to workers is worth as much as treaties with hitler.

So as they say in michigan.. If you are looking for a beautiful peninsula.. Look around you.

Well, that's my concern. How much worse can it get? How far can corporate entities push the line? Full-on Cyberpunk setting, where human life is cheap and regarded as a resource and the corporations run wild? Or are we already on the way?

Im not American, but i think that this scenario happening in our timeline is unlikely.
