The Treaty of Habana
When Prussia and Spain went to war over colonial interests in Morocco and the Philippine Islands in 1891, Spain suffered a humiliating defeat. In Habana, peace was signed.

— 1891 PEACE TREATY – TREATY OF HABANA —
I, Alfonso XIII, King of Spain, hereby conclude peace with the nation of Prussia, ruled by Emperor Wilhelm I of Prussia. I agree with the following terms:
- The Philippine Islands will be ceded to Prussia
- Ifni will be ceded to Spain
- Cuba’s independence will be granted and the nation will be recognized by the Kingdom of Spain. The nation will become a satellite state of Prussia, ruled by Emperor Wilhelm I
- Spain pays 250,000 Pesos in war indemnities to Prussia
- Spain will aid Cuba
