Ridiculous Hat Bill
Overview
One of the many proposed bills in the 2007 Parliament, if passed this would have required that all Members of Parliament wear silly hats while in session.
History
Superdude (PPP) proposed on August 19, 2007 that all Members of Parliament be required to wear a silly hat whenever Parliament convened. Nekromans (YSP) voiced support for the bill and suggested amending it to specify the hats highlight “the flaws in our personalities for others to mock, henceforth to be known as a ridicule hat”.
Text of Legislation
It shall be required that all Members of Parliament shall wear a silly hat that highlights the flaws in our personalities for others to mock, henceforth to be known as a ridicule hat whenever Parliament convenes.
Result
This bill was not voted upon or passed. As it stands, Members of Parliament may wear whatever they please when Parliament convenes.
The bill was later revived in 2009 as the Funny Hat Bill.
