The Inevitable Republic of Deseret is a fictional nation firmly enshrined in alternate history canon law. The law reads (and I quote):
“Should thouest split the Union of American States assunder then thouest shalt assure that amongst the successor state's number is the glorious Mormon nation of Deseret.”
It is also highly recommended that the CSA comes along for the ride, California disagrees with those 'darned eastners', New England declares itself 'the only worthwhile part of this bloody continent' and (if the poster is from outside of the USA) the native Americans sneak off to do their own thing.
