==== Alternate history clichés concerning this region ====

United Scandinavia is often found in ATLs. Many consider a continuing Union of Kalmar as an AH cliché, while an enlarged Sweden usualy slips under the radar. OTOH quite a few consider OTL Scandinavia to be "balkanised" and looks to the Union of Kalmar as a highly plausible ATL.
