OTL, as i understand it, the Kalmar Union functioned as a trifold personal union, not as a single United Kingdom of Scandinavia. however, it lasted from 1397 to 1523, well over a century, and other comparable unions, like Scotland and England, or Castile and Aragon, or the Hapsburg Empire...
