Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

Before I reply to any of these quotes I just want to tell Red, Bravo. Thank you for this work of art. I truly cannot say that I have read many stories that have been this excellent and true to purpose. It's heartening to see so much of the pain and effort have some sort of vindication. Even if...

What are the implications of Soviet communism collapsing during or immediately after WWII?

Rigorous debate is nice and all, but banning Nazis when they show up should be a simple process.

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

Yes, I'm doing some reading to catching up on the thread. Thank you for the welcome, it's been a long time. It's never the wrong thread when it's this thread. Just wanted to make a dumb joke.

AHC : United States Military Coup in the 80s

Can one have a socialist president in the 80s starting at 1945 though?

AHC : United States Military Coup in the 80s

Would you like to expand on this?

AHC : United States Military Coup in the 80s

Actually I think a Civil War could do it. That it didn't happen OTL doesn't mean it couldn't or wouldn't.

AHC : United States Military Coup in the 80s

I think it's very implausible for the the military to establish a dictatorship. Not because they're incapable of it or even necessarily ideologically opposed. It just does not serve them in the same way. No one figure in the military is going to have the clout necessary to hold it together...

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

Those darn Iowa Caucuses, always supporting revolutionaries. x'D If it was two gold bars, it might have had a chance of getting to the floor. The ways the US Constitution turned into the holy book of a civic religion will always be a curiosity. I partially think the reasons why it's developed...

This Guilty Land: A Post-Civil War Timeline

Yeah, the historical understanding of Napoleon's deep compromise and betrayal of the French Revolution is probably a bit underdeveloped at this time. The more information piles up and the more discussion there is about the motivation of figures like him, the harder it is to maintain the image of...

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

The irony of my tragedy is that anytime I come to the website I look for alerts, and I am watching the thread. I just thought Red was busy with life all this time.

My apologies, I believe I was lost in Texas. I am currently reading everything that I've missed since the spring. :coldsweat:x'D

At what point did the European colonial empires (especially Spain and Portugal) have the ability to conquer Japan?

Just thinking about the technologies available to either side, the ability to hold Japan should decrease as time goes on but the ability to take it increases. Though I suppose, "conquest" should be defined. Because if we're including the kind of colonial proxies that existed in India, then it's...

If the Cuban Missile Crisis went hot, would there be fighting elsewhere?

I've got work tomorrow and I'm trying to enjoy my Sunday, but someone must counter this idea. Cold Warriors, 30 years after the fact.

What if Richard Nixon passed away before 1968 Presidential election?

New Deal style Liberalism might be able to survive the 70s as well.

What if Richard Nixon passed away before 1968 Presidential election?

The peace talks in Paris might go a lot better, depending on whether the ATL Republican nominee also conspires with the South Vietnamese to sabotage the talks.

Is it possible to have a WW2 roughly equivalent to OTL -- WITHOUT a Nazi Germany or communist Russia?

All things are possible, especially things that have already happened. But I do think that it's less likely than not. The scope of the OTL conflict is a bit of an outlier, even in the history of world wars. It'd be hard to maintain the kind of radical back and forth, existential stakes, etc...

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

WOOOO!!! The Man Is Back! With earlier and more substantial use of negro soldiers, there's going to be more two-way animosity in the post war years. I wouldn't be surprised if there are earlier moves for segregation in some places from the Freedmen. Soldiers and freed slaves are going to be the...
