  1. AH Challenge: Poland as colonial power

    Poland cannot into colonies :(
  2. Russian colonial empire in the 16th century?

The main problem is that Russian ports aren't really suited for this, even in later years - both their ports in the Baltic and the Black Sea could be closed off with far, far more ease than those of the British, Spanish and etc. ever could.
  3. WI: Napoleon avoids his "Greatest Mistake"

I don't think so. Personally, I think the most likely scenario after he doesn't reinstate slavery is eventual renewed war with Great Britain, and then interruption of communications with Hispaniola, leading to the island becoming de facto independent, possibly even followed by a de jure...
  4. WI: Napoleon avoids his "Greatest Mistake"

IIRC he did have plans to extend such a system to the whole of Hispaniola (as he had conquered the Spanish part of the island), but he never got around to actually doing that, as he was captured by Napoleon's troops.
  5. WI: Napoleon avoids his "Greatest Mistake"

Well, it is 50% for the administration of Saint-Domingue, which was quite autonomous. How much of it went to metropolitan France is another matter, which I wouldn't be able to answer. That is possible, but it's hard to judge the effect it could have actually had, specially since we don't know...
  6. WI: Napoleon avoids his "Greatest Mistake"

The island was already his, L'Ouverture still was under France, though he had great autonomy. Plantation owners (they didn't lose their properties in the island) lobbied Napoleon to reinstate slavery, so their profits would go up, and also for him to get rid of Toussaint, who established that...
  7. Challenge: American Intervention in Haitian Revolution

I doubt the US could do anything about it in the end; the Haitians defeated France, Great Britain and Spain.
  8. AH Challange: Liechtenstein a leading nation.

Not very hard. They just need to inherit sizable portions of territory, while keeping the capital in Liechtenstein.
  9. American Empire

The USA could annex Liberia at least. It would probably be easier for the USA to conquer another enclave from Spain, such as a coastal city in Galicia.
  10. American Empire

Do you mean a significant amount of territory or an enclave like Gibraltar?
  11. USA VS France 1865-1869?

And a bit exhausted as well. Plus, in 1860, France was still ahead of the USA in industrial production (France had 7.9% of world manufacturing while the USA had 7.2%). Furthermore, in 1860 the French army numbered 608,000 men, and though they couldn't all or even most be sent to the New World...
  12. USA VS France 1865-1869?

Would be interesting to see this develop into (or be the result of) an European war, with the USA, Prussia and Italy fighting France and a vengeful Austria.
  13. WI: Napoleon avoids his "Greatest Mistake"

If he sells most of Louisiana and keeps the southern part for France, he would no longer be blocking the American expansion to the west and as such, there might not be conflicts with the USA over what he keeps.
  14. WI: Napoleon avoids his "Greatest Mistake"

Toussaint didn't want independence, only the abolition of slavery, which the Jacobine regime had done. He was, in fact, seemingly devout to France, albeit also having a taste for the position of power he got himself into. From the constitution of the colony of Saint-Domingue (of 1801): There...
  15. Ah challene: Scottish led United Kingdom

I think this is it. Make them keep the capital in Scotland even if not dominant, Scotland will become much more important within the UK than IOTL.
  16. Franz Joseph's sudden death

That's not what went on in the empire. Slavs even were in better condition than Germans in some areas, such as the ones that required both a Slavic language and German in the administration, as the Slav subjects of the empire often knew both German and their mother language, while Germans rarely...
  17. Napoleon creates the state of Israel

True, I think staying with Egypt and Syria would mean France would have to be able to protect maritime communications with those regions.
  18. Napoleon creates the state of Israel

An ally that most likely wouldn't be able to support itself against the Ottoman Empire wouldn't be much of a benefit. Not to mention that modern irrigation techniques weren't available, making such a State quite less viable. I could see Napoleon establishing a protectorate there, or...
  19. Napoleon creates the state of Israel

Would never happen. There is just not enough reasons for Napoleon to perform ethnic cleansing on an Arab-populated province of the Ottoman Empire and repopulate it with Jews, and then give it independence.
  20. Czechoslovakia-Polish Alliance

It would have been extremely foolish for Poland to stand up for Czechoslovakia. They would be seen as the disruptors of international peace, and the chance of Franco-British intervention would be small.
