Unbuilt Britain

Does anyone have information regarding the effects of the Thames itself if these projects were carried out such as increasing the speed of the river flow downstream or if it would dissipate the build up of silt thus negating the need to dredge?
In the event of wastewater treatment failures, the North Sea would become unpleasant but the Thames might stay OK.

Worse, disturbance of the Thames estuary could destabilise the sunken ammunition ships, leading to some major issues and possibly a very large explosion.

Universal Studios have put out a huge planning document regarding their plans for a theme park in the UK, just south of Bedford.

The doc is here: https://universalukproject.co.uk/wp...ersalUKProject.InformationPack.April-2024.pdf

Its not Unbuilt, but these docs are always going to change so the plans and final product in 2030/1 will be interesting to contrast.
Huh...considering the location and the potential traffic, perhaps the station itself would probably be need to be at around 4 platforms...overall, this project really makes me wonder why on earth is the EWR isn't electrified from the start....

Not so much Unbuilt as Vanished, this video is about the long gone Motorail service that ran until 1995, killed as part of privatisation.
We used it once. The idea was sound and could save hours stuck in traffic if going a long way (and allow you to arrive fresh rather than worn out and grumpy). However, taking the car into London wasn't one of my father's smartest moves.
