NS Germany wins WWII and creates own neo pagan religion based on National Socialism: How would it have looked?

The Kirchenkampf continues and after years/decades the churches declined and now the NSDAP has their own neo pagan religion.

Would it have been based on nordig germanic paganism so Odin, Thor etc. with Nationalsocialist elements like Hitler as some kind of messiah? Or would they have created something completely based on National Socialism without Odin etc. And what about "god"? Would they have had a "god" in their religion similar to Christianity? Or would that have been "too religious" for them and their "religion" would have been some kind of mysticism completely based on the "Kampfzeit" and history of national socialism and hitler?
Are there any sources by NS leaders about thatg or are there books written about it?

Ah... I'm pretty sure the weird occult shit was specifically Himmler's (and by extension some of the SS') thing and the rest of the Nazi leadership thought it was stupid. Seems a lot more likely they're just going to promote Positive Christianity and shit like that instead of Neo-Paganism.

In the unlikely circumstance of a German Victory I see the National Socialist Neo Pagan Religion being tolerated at first and it practitioners as an eccentric subculture with some powerful political members in the SS and other branches of Government. It will over time centralize and have its power center coalesce, that's the beginning of the end. Whoever becomes the head of the religion is going to have a target on his back as groups like the Nazi's will not tolerate other Cults of Personality to take away from their power and influence. Peace time becomes especially dangerous for this Neo-Pagan religion. They'll be an easy target when things start going wrong and there won't be enough Slavs, Jewish People, Romany, and Homosexuals left to blame anymore. A new scapegoat how convenient.

Christianity is still the dominant religion in this post war Germany and I see subsequent leaders after Hitler trying to co opt it's authority and popularity with the masses. Though they'll realize it's still a wild card, Catholicism is controlled by the Vatican and a new Pope could see it at odds with the German State, Protestantism has so many different varieties and strains to it hard to control. Government will find the churches that don't mind taking orders from Berlin and infiltrate those churches that aren't following the playbook and shutter them if necessary. At some point we see it become official policy and a National Christian Church is founded with the Fuhrer as head of faith and head of state. It's like Anglicanism but way more terrifying. Maybe it's called the Germanic Church or Teutonic Church.

This is a very unique take on this, good job. I can already imagine the Nazis eventually trying to suppress any and all information that any of their leaders ever subscribed to said belief.

...or maybe, for maximum irony points, they'd claim that the neo-Pagan stuff was smuggled into the party/society by a Jewish conspiracy, to lead the German people away from Christianity.

Hitler hated both Christianity and Paganism, from what you overall see coming from the Nazi leadership, they would have established a North Korea-esque cult of state worship and racial/nation/leader worship, rather than a theistic religion.

Yeah. Hitler himself would not back such an endeavor. When he could afford to not act, he would almost always do so.

I am thinking.....

They go smorgasbord with soupy mix of anything that Himmler was attracted to. But.... they stop short of a religion as they know that the SS (soupy smorgasbord) is simply not going to replace Christianity groups.

Rather, the Nazis present the beliefs as a "philosophy" that bears a striking resemblance to Juche, from like minded (well in the totalitarian sense) North Korea.

Himmler's long smorgasbord includes aspects of:

- Arthurian legends (suitably altered to suit SS tastes. Himmler even had vague "SS knights" and a round table).
- Tibetan Buddhism / Amnism (once the digs for the lost super civilization in German forests failed to pan out, Himmler got really interested in Tibet).

- Recreated aspects of olde Norse religion.
- Garbled Hinduism ( indigenous to India- though Hindus would likely say that it is indigenous to mankind. That aside, the Nazis just figure that select religious teachings from the homeland of the "Aryans" are "cool" and are free to be appropriated- right?

- Writings taken from Mein Kamph and other "literature" written by Nazi and psuedo Nazi theorists. The collective "teachings" are presented as the representing the uhhmm..... "racial conciousness of the Aryan peoples".
- Cultural beliefs from Sparta (they must of been Nazi fueled super warriors- right? Well, they did have eastern threats- no doubt proto Bolsheviks). The cultural beliefs are presented with the same soupy "racial conciousness" theme.

Yes I thought exactly about that. No joke, I thought that they go back to the "Deutsche Christen" and then found their own church called "Teutonische Reichskirche" or something like that

Yeah that sounds plausible as well. So a German version of OTL "Juche". instead of large bronze statues of kim jong il and kim il sung, we'd have a big statue of Adolf Hitler in Berlin probably where people have to do the Hitlergruß when they walk there and lay down flowers just like in North Korea or un München at the Feldherrenhalle where the Putsch of 1923 failed

I think they would worship a Bat…
Specifically the ”Space Bats“ that were the reason they somehow won.
😁
