There is this timeline, done by @Paradox-less which is about that. In any case, I do see the Yanks cozying up to Argentina or Perú or Bolivia just to get back to them later on. And it's more likely this will make Chile look as the most powerful country in South America, and a possible colonizer...
Oh yes!
Once Mexico City is taken, the end of the war is going to be a foregone conclusion at this point. However, it seems that Hidalgo and Allende are probably going to end at each other's throats after everything's said and done. I'll keep on following this.
Well... here I go. I'll try to keep it brief:
Porfirio Díaz gone: Easy enough, either he dies earlier (by the time when the Revolution started he was really old, and not quite sound of mind) or gets retired by either his advisors or a military coup. The problem is that you still have a crapton...
Yep, I concur. Bolívar did deserve to die old, happy, and having (partially) fulfilled his dream. A far cry from OTL (where he died sick, poor, and surrounded by enemies) and mine (where he died suddenly by illness).
In anyways, I loved those updates and also the outcome of the Mexican-American...
Good news everyone! Cookies if you read this with Professor Farnsworth's voice,
I have a computer now!
Finally I can post actively once more!
I will get back onto updating this timeline within this month, if my current duties with my MBA allow me the time to do so. So, you can officially...
Alas, thanks for mentioning me!
Now that you mention Hidalgo's fate, let's just hope he doesn't go crazy and repressive as he was in our timeline. Let's just say there were reasons why Allende called him "Cura bribón".
1936 is correct. OTL Baja California was declared a state in the 1950's, and the population in Baja California Sur has been low, due to it being inaccessible from anywhere but sea routes. And thus today in this TL and OTL the lower half of the peninsula remains a backwater province.
1946...
...And I'm back. Happy new year to you all, I hope that you all had a wonderful time with your friends, families, and significant others. I actually liked this chapter, as it feels like the ones from the previous effort, as a bored highschooler in this timeline writing all of this in a...
The main reason for that is... "Bugger me, I forgot!"
Now, in all due seriousness, Austria will be mentioned in the 9th chapter for plot reasons.
Thanks, guys!
You'll be in for a treat in the second half of the 19th century and it will get better in the long run.
So... I should never again make promises that I'm not going to fulfill. Bugger me...
Depression, lack of computer (which is going to almost permanent if things keep going this way, unless I grab a disgustingly cheap and slow machine), getting distracted on a side project from this TL (for...
And here be a new chapter, after being too busy with personal things. The good thing is that the other chapters may be ready in less time than usual. Though, I'm a bit exhausted, and I think a few typos escaped my eagle-vision. I hope you enjoy it.
Chapter 6: Agustín Jerónimo’s Bizarre...
A Japanese and Qing alliance. Now, that came out of nowhere. Also, methinks that if Japan is as militaristic as in OTL, this will end badly if they go to war against whomever is at the business end of the katana, as they won't be as resource-starved as in OTL.
We would also require to see what is going on with China and South America.
Also, I'm not surprised (I'm pleased, though) on how the USA and France have gone fascist-ish. But I'm wondering how will this affect Mexico in the short run.
