  1. Why didn't the WAllies land in Germany?

Perfect. That clears it up nicely. Thanks!
  2. Why didn't the WAllies land in Germany?

I'd guess they would still come from Britain. But given their overwhelming naval superiority, couldn't they make it happen somewhere between Wilhelmshaven and the Danish border?
  3. Why didn't the WAllies land in Germany?

Why didn't the WAllies attempt a landing on the North Sea German coast, bringing them directly into Germany, as opposed to the longer route through France? If carried out, how would this scenario play out?
  4. Monotheism without institutional violence?

To answer your question, you gave your own answer here: The conclusions I would draw are different: It is a warning, that they should be ready to see even their families grow apart because of their faith. We can either take the approach of using the Gospels as a reliable source, which would...
  5. Monotheism without institutional violence?

The thing with Aslan’s book in particular (don’t know about others) is that it starts off by telling us how we cannot take the Gospels as reliable evidence for scholarship. And then he proceeds to take verses from the Gospels out of context to point out Jesus’ supposed violent tendencies...
  6. AHC: Communist Brazil

Well, the timeframe I chose was due to the relative distraction that America had elsewhere. After 1945, it'd be considered unacceptable to have a Soviet aligned state in the western hemisphere.
  7. AHC: Communist Brazil

Interesting posts; but is there really a chance for this to happen in the specified time?
  8. AHC: Communist Brazil

With a POD in 1930-1945 your task is to make Brazil a full fledged Communist state.
  9. Historical Blind Spots

Chinese history (especially pre 1920s) is my favorite, by far. Then, I have some interest in pre-Islamic Iran, Russia, as well as early to mid-Byzantium. Actual blind spots might be sub-Saharan history, as well as the Americas' (with the exception of the US, of which I have some cursory knowledge.)
  10. The Mauricians: A Medieval Roman novel

Echoing the thoughts above, Mohammed should come into play at some point, correct? He was alive by the time of the POD… Overall, this is not a bad idea, albeit a little slow moving.
  11. Tale of an Egg: A Rapa Nui wank (99.9% ASB-free)

A most peculiar idea. I like it.
  12. Renovation: An Eastern Roman Timeline

Long time lurker, first time commenter. This has got to be an interesting one; I don’t think I’ve seen anyone try to save everybody’s favorite empire with a POD this late yet. I’ll be interested to see how it develops!
