  1. AHC/WI: White Legion carves out an enclave/fiefdom in Zaire

The white legion numbered along around 275 men. Another issue is the fact that the White Legion had serious internal tensions. Around 30 of them were highly trained French mercenaries. The rest were mostly former Yugoslav army soldiers. In addition to the fact that they often had trouble...
  2. A Bridge to the 21st Century

I just finished catching up on this TL. Just wanted to say great work SLCer! Its interesting to see the fates of so many politicians turn out so different. Vice President Fiorina, Merrick Garland actually on SCOTUS, and crazy President Huckabee all make for good reading. Keep up the good work.
  3. Prometheus Reborn: A Greece WW1 Timeline

I liked your intro, it set the stage nicely and neatly. I am quite curious as to see what you have planned. I would wager King Constantine I loses his throne earlier and on a more permanent basis leading to an earlier Greek entry into the war on the Allied side. But that is just a guess.
  4. Viva El Regente!: The Birth of Modern Spain

Thank you for your very kind words Linese. They are very much appreciated as our your ideas. I will be honest with you, I would have liked to keep the Tl updated regularly. However, my life has been quite busy and hectic lately. Additionally the other reason is that I have had tremendous...
  5. AH Title and Description Game

Abdul Aziz, the head of the Al-Saud family is killed at the Battle of Riyadh in 1902 whilst attempting to recapture his family's former capital. The Al-Saud forces are routed upon their leader's death and Al-Saud resume their exile in Kuwait. The Great War breaks out in 1914 with the Ottomans...
  6. A Historia do Novo Israel

Subscribed! This is a fascinating TL Mirza, keep up the good work.
  7. Viva El Regente!: The Birth of Modern Spain

Cuba 1842-1845 The plantation owners initially thought they had nothing to fear from the new governor-general. Why should they? They had dominated every governor-general for decades, and Serrano was so inexperienced and so young, how could he succeed where Tacon had failed? They soon...
  8. Is there any plausible way Cuba could become US territory?

Perhaps Narciso Lopez's 1850 or 1851 expedition is more successful. In OTL he tired to recruit both Jefferson Davis and Robert Lee to help lead the expedition. Maybe their leadership ensures more southern volunteers and better organization. This in turn leads to a better start to the...
  9. Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran: An Iran war TL

Very interesting TL. I like how you use politicians actual words from otl or something very similar in this new setting. I am sad to see Rice replaced with Bolton, and that Rumsfield wasn't replaced with Gates but it's likely that's what Cheney would have done as president.
  10. Viva El Regente!: The Birth of Modern Spain

To be honest I am still figuring out the specifics. Speaking in board terms, the Phillipines along with Cuba and Puerto Rico will eventually get a say in their own governance. Whether it is a modified dominion-like status or something else I am not sure.
  11. Viva El Regente!: The Birth of Modern Spain

I am glad you are interested. :D Sorry about the font changes they are unintentional and I plan on going back and fixing them eventually.
  12. 1492: a different new world

The figurehead is quite interesting the serpent with feathers sounds like Quetzalcoatl and since these vistitors came from the south, perhaps they are from a more advanced Aztec empire.
  13. Spanish Morocco?

Well actually General Prim offered the crown to the Duke of Genoa first before Amadeo. It was only after the Duke refused (really his family did so on his behalf)that Prim approached Amadeo. So, it is possible for the Duke to be chosen. However I don't see how a 13 year old would do any better...
  14. Viva El Regente!: The Birth of Modern Spain

In the next few posts I plan to discuss Spain's remaining colonies. This will require giving some background as well as dealing with events that occurred after the initial POD in this timeline but have not been mentioned previously. Hope you enjoy! The Jewel of the Caribbean Cuba 1832-1841...
  15. Cadiz Constitution of 1812

Reforms could work, just not in 1812. Napoleon is going to be defeated and when he does Fernando VII is going to be back in power. There is no way he is going to accept the constitution and it is not like killing him off would help. His brother Don Carlos was even more reactionary than Fernando...
