    Disaster Averted (Titanic Lives)

Mind you with the way that Lusitania sank, it doesn't really matter if she had enough lifeboats or not. Only 6 were successfully launched in OTL.

AH: Different Capitals for Every Australian State

Hm. WA is fairly easy, have Albany be settled as a civilian settlement instead of a military first instead of Perth. Add in the fact that until 1901 Albany was a much better port then Freo was, if you could get the big initial settlement there that might get the ball rolling.

    Large Diesel Propulsion.

Hmm, if the White Star Line doesn't go down the gurgler in the 1930's, they were planning on having their Queen Mary equivalent, the RMMV Oceanic powered by diesel-electric engines making 30+ knots.

Blue Skies in Camelot (Continued): An Alternate 80s and Beyond

Hm, I had a thought. Would the Titanic be discovered any earlier in this timeline. Like maybe Robert Ballard's first expedition is successful or the expedition that National Geographic and Disney were planning gets off the ground and gets lucky?

Blue Skies in Camelot (Continued): An Alternate 80s and Beyond

Yeah, it was honestly fascinating reading How to Survive a Plague during the first lockdown and seeing the parallels with how Trump reacted to COVID and how Reagan reacted to HIV/AIDS, as well as knowing how the Australian government reacted when HIV broke out here.

    Shocking camera footage discovered!

So, about that. One of the Marconi operators had a camera on him when the Lusitania sank and he took some photos as the ship sank. Thing is while he survived, he went into the water and the film was badly damaged.

    Shocking camera footage discovered!

Intact film from the sinking of the Lusitania.

What if it was known the Lusitania carried ammunition?

Oh for sure, hence the emphasis on slightly.

What if it was known the Lusitania carried ammunition?

To be slightly fair to Walther Schwieger, there is evidence that the sinking was somewhat accidental. He states in his Captain's log that he was aiming for her engine room, which would have crippled Lusitania but not sunk her, or at least not as quick. Thing is, he overestimated the Lusitania's...

    Question about RMS Titanic

In theory yes. However in OTL it wouldn't have mattered because the latest evidence suggests that the Titanic didn't manage to reverse her engines before she hit the burg. Also it is actually a myth that the Olympic Class had too small a rudder for their size, in fact they were surprisingly...

Iceberg does Less damage to the titanic

In addition if water should get above the watertight deck, for example if a fire breaks out and water is used on the upper decks to put it out, it ruins the ship's balance something fierce. I.e. what happened to the Normandie.

Iceberg does Less damage to the titanic

No. Arguably if they did that it would be more dangerous then if they didn't.

Seven Days to the River Rhine: the Third World War - a TL

I know that the Australian government was expecting only one nuclear strike to happen if the balloon went up and that target would have been Exmouth up north.

general history question: to what extent was the southern hemisphere/non-commie/capitalist world targeted by nukes during the Cold War?

I remember reading that when the 1983 Australian cabinet papers got released a couple of years ago, that they stated that the federal government was only expecting Exmouth to be hit if World War 3 broke out . While I am less optimistic then that, I don't expect more then two or three places to...
