Seeing as there's been a resurgence in Hillary related wikiboxes over the last few pages, i was slighty inspired.
I suspect this already exists as a entry in one of these threads somewhere.
From Archibald's extensive Explorer's space timeline, the Big Gemini is chosen as the US's main craft after cancellation of the Shuttle.
(So those of you who are following the timeline will know this is being posted a bit late  (10 days after use by Archibald) , i think...
Another one off.
The two men of the Soviet MAVR (MArs VeneRa) TMK-2 spacecraft pass by Venus on their return from the first manned Martian flyby. Years after launch, the luster of interplanetary voyage has worn off for most people, although space enthusiasts on both sides of the curtain hope...
(Not in same universe as prior images, just one off)
Chinese space program's Shugunag One (or Project 741) was first launched in 1973, becoming China's first foray into manned space flight.
The Shugunag craft was essentially made as a slighty smaller and lighter Gemini clone, and were...
The fairing is based on OTL Soyuz and Shenzhou fairings, while the escape tower is based off a Soyuz, it being a Russian invention ITTL.
It's essentially the canceled OTL Titan 3M ,which was intended for the MOL program in the 1970s, (the UA1207 boosters having seven segments).
The two...
The Saturn-launched Olympus Station orbits during the first joint six-man Poseidon mission. Olympus and its twin station Delphi played a central role within the later stages of the Apollo program, giving NASA its first real taste of long term manned orbital research.
The most modern derivative of the Rhea Capsule, the Poseidon craft is used for NASA's and its associated partners activities in low earth orbit. An enlarged orbital module helps with its primary purpose for station keeping and as a four man crew ferry, a role it still plays today.
The orbital module and re-entry capsule proportions are mostly taken from the Apollo D-2 proposal, though I agree it seems small, especially for a lunar mission.
The service module is probably not suited for BEO either, the more I look back at this design the better it seems for a LEO craft...
From the same world as my last image.
Part of NASA's Apollo program, the Rhea capsule is intended to become the base workhorse model for american activities in space. Pictured below is the BEO derivative, one of the three-man Zeus crafts, on its circumlunar voyage.
Have thought about it, might send a few feelers out to some of the new space-timelines (There seems to be a lot popping up lately) over the next few weeks, see if I can fit some into a quickly growing Uni-project filled schedule.
Yeah, it was my work, both modeled and rendered in blender. Was mostly a simple project to teach myself the imaging side of blender , while wondering what various craft would look like if soyuzified, in this case a mecury/gemini conical shape.
Nice work on that Columbia craft btw, that is...
In a world where the Soviet space program adopted a conical capsule instead of OTL designs, in an effort to avoid Party accusations of directly copying blunt head-light shaped American technology.
The two manned Ferniks(Phoenix) Spacecraft is built using early designs surrounding a main...
