WI Julian the Apostate lived?

Julian the Apostate was the last non-Christian Roman Emperor. He was very anti-Christian, and tried to restore Rome to Paganism. He was killed in battle, however, when he was only 31. So what if Julian had survived for another 15 or 20 years? Could he have made Rome a pagan state again? Would this have enabled Rome to become stronger, and possibly last much longer?

To the first point, possible but unlikely. Christianity was becoming more and more mainstream by the time Julian came to power. The Eastern half of the empire will certainly go Christain barring some sort of apocalyptic catastrophe. As for the second point, possibly, but not by much. Of course, a pagan Western Empire could simply butterfly into Attila burning Rome with no Pope Leo, or it could possibly squeak along to the mid 500s.
