An Allied Ottoman Empire

So what if the Ottoman Empire, which had just as much in common with the British than anyone else a few years prior to WWI, declared for the British instead of the Germans. Consequentially, instead of the Ottoman forces fighting against the Allies, the Ottoman forces went into action fighting in support of the Serbs, the Russians, & the like.

How could WWI turn out differently with the Ottomans fighting against the Austro-Hungarian Empire, not to mention the Bulgarians as well?

How do the Ottomans fare as a result?

And what of the aftermath of WWI? How do things end up if the Ottoman Empire was a member of the Allies instead of being a member of the Central Powers?

Anything else?

Discuss.

A question. How to make the British give back two Ottoman Dreadoughts they had just stole ? Without that, no OE in Entente.

The first impluse is to think that the Ottomans would keep their levant and Mesopotian territories.

OTOH the British promise to establish a jewish Homeland in Palistine was a major sourse of financing for the Allies.

Or the British run with earlier Jewish homeland plans of either Kenya, Tasmania, or West Australia

A WW1 with Britian withdrawing in 1916~7 due to bankruptcy ?????????????

Why should this be a consequence if the Ottoman Empire joined the Allies?

You mean 2 extras? But would just those be enough to satisfy the OE ?

No I meant the OTL two which they had ordered, but the RN grabbed when WWI started.

Plus there would be other concessions, probably in regards to Iraq, Palistine (ie drop of support Jewish homeland there) & Egypt...

No idea, but it will have MAJOR implication on the fate of Russia. In OTL Russia was effectively cut off from british and french "Lend&Lease". The only open ports were in the extreme north and in Siberia and the railroad line to these ports were in a poor condition, single track and in one case even narrow gauge. They just could not handle all the supplies the entente could have send to Russia. A lot of stuff had piled up in the north by the time of the revolution. The ports in the Black Sea had much better lines of communication, better railways lines and navigable rivers.

Britain sure has to promise more than a few ships. Maybe some land in Bulgaria, like Eastern Rumelia?

Without the Ottoman Empire in the CPs, Bulgaria is neutral. In fact, the Ottoman Empire would most likely be neutral as well. They had not direct wins if they go against the CPs, and the Entente has nothing to win from having them in their side. Yeah, Britain could offer to return Cyprus, Kuwait or Egypt to direct Ottoman control but why? What would they got in return? A pair of Turkish battallions on the Marne? That is not as valuable as Egypt.

One possible way to get the Ottoman Empire on the Allied side would be to have Italy join the Central Powers at the beginning of the war. The Allies could promise to give Libya back to the Ottoman Empire, and possibly also Italian Somalia if the Ottomans were interested. The British could also offer to give the Ottomans back more real authority in Egypt to the Ottomans, though they would certainly want to keep some influence in Egypt and particularly over the Suez Canal.

The Ottomans could also gain at the expense of Bulgaria if Bulgaria joined the Central Powers, but Bulgaria would probably remain neutral or even join the Allies if the Ottoman Empire supported the Allies.

Italy joining the Central Powers could actually reverse the lineup of several of the major and minor powers in WWI - the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria on the Allied side; Italy and possibly Greece and Romania with the Central Powers.
