Bump. Let's see some powered armor.

From my Unionverse story.

Running Speed: 84 km/h
Leap Height: 15 meters
Power Cell: 500 MW Tritium Fusion Reactor
Shield Durability: 100 MW
Armor Materials: Adamantium Carbide, 5cm
Kinetic Impact Tolerance: 20 KW/cm^2

Fixed Armaments: 2 x RW-101M 127mm Quad-Tube Rocket-Launcher Packs (shoulder-mounted); 1 x P-114L 200mm 50 MW Particle Projector Cannon (arm-mounted)

The Lorica series Powered Armor was the premier infantry weapon in use by the late CGU. During the latter stages of the First Universal War in 7120, they saw significant holding actions on the outer rim of the Aegis Galaxy. During the short period of peace, they were used in anti-rebellion and counterterrorist operations throughout the Milky Way. During the Second Universal War (7166-7270), they saw wide use as part of the combined United Stellar Nations Armed Taskforce during the offensives into the Aegis Galaxy and the final campaign into the Andromeda Galaxy. The Lorica armors were used mostly by shocktrooper legions and panzergrenadiers. After the war, the CGU reorganized itself into the Galactic Federative Imperial Republic, and was integrated into the Federated Commonwealth of Free and United Stellar Nations. The new Republic Army standardized use of the third model of the Lorica series. This came in handy during the early battles of the Third Universal War in 7299.

Well, they are mass-produced, and I did base the design on the Leo from GW. However, I disagree that they are cannon fodder.
You see, I never liked the aspect in the shows which depicted really cool-looking basic-soldier type mecha as simply cannon fodder. It gives a really versatile and durable design a bad rap, and I will not stand for it.
Assuming, of course, that you are talking about the Legionary mech.

Holy Crap. This is awesome timeline material. France develop mechs in 1850's? I know its ASB but that would have huge reprecussions on the battlefield.

While that looks cool and all, how would bears be effective in combat?

Would it be like a dragoon kinda thing, only with bears running through a camp?

I;m not dogging it or anything I am jsut trying to figure out how bears would be effective.

Well they be of not much use in a combat enviornment with automatic weapons. If used in a pre 1600 timeline I would they would be very useful, especially against traditional horse cavalry.

I've been toying around with the idea of Elvish firearms, and how they would look. The idea being that in Middle Earth, gunpowder was developed at some point.

Any ideas?

Silvery. Refined, quiet, wood.

Well, that description could fit for pneumatic firearms.
Or magnetic weaponry, like railguns or coilguns.

Anyway. I got something new.
Unionverse Fightercraft.
SF/A-88 Dragon. In use by the late CGU in the 7260s, and in the early stages of the Third Universal War in the 7300s.

Armaments include two 30mm Light Repeating Autolasers, two 75mm Beam Cannons, 12 plasma rocket emitters, and one heavy 37mm automatic cannon. The cannon is specially designed for accuracy, and has a series of tractor-beam projectors in front of the gun's barrel. Additionally, an internal rotating rack can carry up to 10 missiles or bombs, including nuclear air-intercept missiles and antipersonnel scatterbombs.
