The correct terminology for the tower-thingy with cannons is a 'turret' or 'gun turret'.

Heh, sorry for quoting something that you said over a week ago, but I drew this in response to that post. It took me ages to finally finish this, though, as I've never drawn something like this in Inkscape before.

This is a successful SPAAG of the USSR from my TL-014 world. It's based heavily off the ZSU-23-4 (the names of similar because of what the numbers refer to, the gun calibre and the number of guns, as these are the main similarities between the two vehicles they also have similar names). "Sestra" is the name of a river in Russia.

I borrowed some small parts, such as the anchor, one gun and one radar and maybe some other small parts from a sheet that I got from shipbucket (it said that it was free), but I never
thought of writing shipbucket there. good suggestion.

I get almost all of my inspiration from real-life photos of ships. I have a whole folder in my computer dedicated to just that

What was I saying... ah, yes.
the super-mega-battlehship thing is complete

Sounds nice

I made a slightly different version of the carl gustaf V class yesterday (three big gun-platforms in the rear instead of 2)
I'll post it here soon.

It says something about how much time I spend thinking about Warhammer 40k, that the first thought I had when I saw that turret was: "Tank turret?"

Excellent work with the warships, all of you - ever impressive!

Would you really want a nuclear battleship? AP shells and reactors don't make a good mix IMHO

BTW great stuff Darkaiz

yes... a Nuclear Powered Battleship would be able to save so much more money. the ammunition would not be of any issue. if the ship gets struck by a bomb, whether in the ammo-dump or in the reactor/engine, the result would be pretty much the same.

not to mention the increase in speed it would have, allowing for a bigger ship, with bigger armaments.
