But your border around what used to be the dark green area is incomplete.

True, true.
Also, how do you make the recolor tool useable?

Secondary colour is the colour you're replacing, primary colour is what you're replacing it with.

Tolerance. Set your tolerance level to zero. Then it'll work just like MS Paint.

OK, thanks.

Here's the colorized version of my German Empire base map I have posted in the blank map thread. I felt like doing a colored version for kicks, because I was bored and needed something to do, and wanted to take a break from map requests, which I am still trying to slog thru. I have colored Prussia in several shades of yellow to make the provinces stand out more. Again, as I mentioned in the blank map thread I didn't get around to cleaning up the borders yet, but may do so in the future if I feel ambitious. The blobby, unclean look to the borders is NOT my doing, that onus lies w/ whoever drafted the original base map.

@Legoism,
Here is the labelled map of Europe in 1900. This should serve as a reference, in case you want to try your hand at drawing your own base map of 1900 Europe. Enjoy!

That is an amazing map. It's a pity it's not big enough to get the British counties and French departements and their names on it as well...

He did the Thuringian States.

You think British Counties and French Departments are too small?!

Yes but the Thuringian states are surrounded by Prussia, allowing him to draw arrows to them, and just have two letter abbreviation labels.

You've used the 1920 border for Denmark/Germany!

The 1864 border ran further north.

Using Frankolio's 1914 map I decided to cover the entire war. If I made any mistakes I would like to know. For example I'm not sure about German pacific colonies. First one 1915
