TL-191 United States Presidential Election 1896
OK. This is the election of 1896.
One important thing. Reed saved Haiti from being annexed by the Confederate States. There is no guarantee Bryan or Fairbanks would do the same. Democratic Nomination President: Thomas Brackett Reed, of Maine Vice President: Philander C. Knox, of Pennsylvania Socialist Nomination President: William Jennings Bryan, Nebraska Vice President: Job Harriman, of California Republican Nomination President: Charles W. Fairbanks, of Indiana Vice President: Albert Hounsome, of California

If you are referring to the Destruction surely the fact that Featherston wasn't elected will prevent that from happening.

No, I'm just referring to a nation of slavocrats-in-all-but-name taking over Haiti.

Right but even in a US Election only Retrospective timeline things wont necessarily pan out exactly the same. Also even if they did the sad truth is that if the CSA had direct contol of Haiti it probably doesnt mean that many, if any, more Haitians would have been killed in a Destruction since the Confederates pretty much acted with impunity there OTL as well. I think that a more Socialist USA actually makes the Freedomite CSA less likely.

I'm going to vote to NOT let the CSA have its way with Central America and the Caribbean.
