The evacuation of the population to Juneau was carried out with the assistance of the team from the expedition. The Hawaiian Gunboat landed additional supplies at Juneau and used explosives to widen the entrance to the harbor. Some of the settlers used the chance to relocate to Victoria, where conditions were much better. The Expedition made one final stop in Alaska before heading south to Vancouver. No additional white settlers were found.

The Port of Victoria was seeing some construction during the "summer" Months. It was considered to be the only place in Canada that was inhabited. It had the only medical facility in the region but it population still remain comparatively small do to the long winter. Still with the ocean current the way that it was the island did not suffer as badly as the mainland.
A small scientific party would remain their with Constable Benton Fraser.
The port was well equipped with food and fuel to more than last it through the winter and into the Spring.

August 1887 The Port of Victoria was humming with activity as Hawaiian ships arrived and left. The Hawaiian ships were taking ore back to the island and at the same time bring in supplies that helped to make the winter bearable.. All of the buildings that had been put up had been reinforced to survive the long winters. There were even several Green houses that had been built to allow the community to grow fruits and vegetables . There was as always a stock piling of coal.

The community's population had grown. Surprisingly there had been the return of a few Canadians from Australia. The Canadian and Hawaiian Flags flew from what was called the Government Compound. The Population currently stood at more than 250 of which 25 were Hawaiians.
The Hawaiian Military had constructed some fortifications but there really was no threat to the region. Some more of the people from the North were expected to relocate to the Canadian Bastion.

Meanwhile it appeared that word of the Hawaiian Central American Republics Naval Show of Force ha finally reached Mexico City. The Hawaiian Government was still selling arms and even ships to the Central American Republic. So far Hawaii had sold the country more than 100,000 rifles plus some artillery and explosives.

Honolulu: The Hawaiian Parliament was meeting and several questions came up regarding the Naval show of force off the Southern Coast of Mexico. Some of the Reform Party members question the wisdom of Hawaii's getting involved in the struggle. The Prime Minister remembered his friend addressing the same subject matter of Hawaii's involvement in foreign affairs.
Prime Minister Bishop rose and addressed the matter. The learned member has asked who authorized the deployment of our naval forces to the region. I must say that it has been our policy to protect our trade routes. This nation buys and sells goods to the Central American Republic. Some of those goods are vital to the welfare of this nation. Thus it has been the Policy of the government of the Kingdom of Hawaii to stand by our friends. Prime Minister Gibbson first ordered the deployment of naval forces to hat region and with a risiong threat I asked for recommendations from the Naval Command. They recommended a show of forced combined with continued training of the Central American Republics Navy.
So far there has been no reaction to our sailing in these waters.

In a surprising move the Head of the Reform Party introduced a resolution of support for the Prime Ministers leadership. It appeared that the Hawaiian nation was at last being drawn together. The resolution passed 59 to 2.
Meanwhile a story appeared in one of the Hawaiian newspapers telling of the expedition to Alaska and the Canadian Yukon. Mentioned was the discovery of a discovery of a small number of white settlers that had survived .
The Government of Hawaii received a dispatch from its Ambassador to the British Empire in India. Her Majesty's government would be sending an official representative to Hawaii.

The new British Embassy had been under construction for sometime. It was being supervised by someone from the Commonwealth Embassy.
The Complex wax located on the outskirts of Honolulu. It looked Much like the Naval Headquaters.

My suggestion would be to look for photos of the Linekona School/Building/Art Center which is a historic building east of downtown Honolulu. It would be the perfect spot for the British embassy since it would be at the corner of Victoria and Beretania Streets and across from Thomas Square - all of which are pretty anglocentric. Beretania is the Hawaiian pronounceation of Britannia.

I've only located one picture online so far:

David I like your idea. I think that the building would be perfect for the new British Embassy. Below the New British Embassy.

A Message arrived by the diplomatic pouch from the Hawaiian Ambassador to the British Court. It announced that the British Government had announced that the new Ambassador was someone who the Hawaiian's Knew quite well. He had been recalled from his post in New Zealand for consideration to another post. The Prime Minister had strongly recommended the governor General to the post and Her Majesty had given her approval. He was sailing by Clipper Ship to Hawaii from India.

Prime Minister Bishop was very pleased that the man selected to be the new Ambassador to Hawaii was someone that he knew. He was also someone who had worked with the Hawaiian in an effort of Mutual respect and co-operation. It was perhaps a signal by the British government in India that they respected the Hawaiians and considered them allies. It was also a signal of the British crown's interest in what was happening to Canada and what was going on in North America.
It was hoped with an Ambassador in Hawaii the British government might be better able to find out what was Happening in Jamaica and in all of the America's.

The Commonwealth Representative had been working quite hard to ensure that construction of the new British Embassy be completed as quick as possible. He had had staff from the complex hire one of the best local construction companies to get it done right. The company had built the massive Military /Naval Academy complex and a lot of people in the Islands thought the job was outstanding.
Construction had started in March and the work was proceeding smoothly.
Work arrived that his Excellency had left India aboard one of the Clipper ships and it was expected that he would arrive quickly.

The Clipper ship arrived in Hawaii in record time. The ship was created by
a delegation from the Commonwealth as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister was unable to attend due to a sudden urgent manner that had come up. The Ambassador was happy that he was once again on dry land . Since the Embassy was not yet competed he would stay at the Commonwealth complex. A lot of the passengers aboard the ship were members of his new staff. Included in the staff was Major Charles Fitzsimmons Royal Engineers who would check on the construction of the Embassy and a Royal Navy officer. The Ambassador had his diplomatic and personnal staff.

Honolulu: There were a series of dinner parties and receptions honoring the New British Ambassador. The Prime Minister had a reception at his estate and it was followed by one at the Royal Palace. Not to be outdone the Commonwealth Complex also had one. The Ambassador also rented facilities at the largest hotel in the city to thank his host.

The next day he was formally presented to the King , who welcomed him to Hawaii.

The new British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Hawaii presented his credentials to the King. There was a meeting with the King, the Ambassador and the Prime Minister followed by a luncheon. The Three men discussed the relations between their country's in this changing world.
Among the items discussed was the threat to both Great Britain and Hawaii. The topic of Mexico was explored as well as that of the United States of America.
The Ambassador once again conveyed Her Majesty's thanks for the assistance that Hawaii had given to the Empire in these times of trouble.

The British Ambassador arrived at the estate of the Previous Prime Minister of Hawaii. A man who the British and many Hawaiian believed had been instrumental in the creation of the modern Kingdom of Hawaii. It had been ill health that had finally done what no one in the Reform Party had tried to do resign the office of Prime Minister. Walter Murray Gibbson's health had slowly improved over the year. He was gradually getting better. The Ambassador had exchanged letters with him when he was the Governor General of New Zealand but they had never met. Today that was to change. The Ambassador also brought something from Her Majesty. The Prime Minister and Her Majesty had noted that in Britain's hour of need the then Hawaiian Prime Minister had gone out of his way to assure the safety of her Majesty's subjects in the Pacific. There had been mutual co-operation between the two nations. Her Majesty wanted also to tank him for all of the assistance that had been given to the evacuation of people from Canada and the continuing efforts of both nations to deal with The Fall.
Her Majesty was herby conferring Knighthood on the Gentleman from Hawaii.

Victoria, Canada This last remaining outpost of the Dominion of Canada was going through another day when two ships appeared in the harbor. One was flying the flag of the Kingdom of Hawaii but the other vessel was flying the flag of Great Britain. Aboard the merchant ship were a few people that had been sent to help out things and more important supplies to help make the winter more easy to get through. Word had also arrived that there would now be a British Ambassador in Hawaii. An undersea telegraph line would be laid next year between the Island and Hawaii. It would be a joint venture of Great Britain and Hawaii.

Hawaii was now becoming the place where Great Britain would be able to maintain contact with the Americas. It was quite clear to the Hawaiian Intelligence Service that the British Government intended to carry out intelligence missions of its own into the Central American Republic, Mexico and Gran Columbia as well as the US.
At this point the Director was not that concern but he notified the Prime Minister.

Britain's new Ambassador quickly got into the swing of things in the islands. He saw his job as cementing relations between the two countries, indeed with the entire British Empire. At the same time he was also charged with supporting the establishment of an intelligence service in the America's. Part of that would require the traveling of an agent to Jamaica . The question that the Ambassador's superiors wanted was how big a threat was Mexico to British Plans.
