Total Israeli Victory in War of Independence

So how would it be possible for the Israelis to gain control of all of Israel and the West Bank during the 1948 war and what repercussions do you think would result of a greater Israeli victory.

This is pretty ASB as the Israelis did not have the horses to take the west bank against the Arab Legion. Also esp the Brits would have forced a cease fire.

Having said that one assumes that you would have seen an exodus from the West Bank like you saw from Israel of lots of Arabs & fo the same reasons (radio broadcasts saying leave so we can kill the Jews without you in the way then come back & take everything). Jordan remains trans-Jordan, and the Israelis have plenty of strategic depth on the eastern front & a more defensible border there. The Golan situation remains the same, and Gaza or most of it & the Sinai are still Egyptian. In this scenario I doubt (trans) Jordan will have any will to join in any future Arab wars against Israel, as its borders are unchanged.

With one of three borders relatively safe, and added strategic depth, Israel can direct more forces against Syria &/or Egypt in any future fighting. The biggest change is that the whole issue of occupation goes away as a major problem. If Israel takes the Golan nobody cares (except the Syrians) and giving & letting Egypt have Gaza (whatever part they held in 1948) is a no brainer. Absent a west bank, no "Palestine" & if egypt owns Gaza you know they will make it their business to prevent rocket attacks.
