Jewish Kenya

In the beginning of the 20th century, the British offered to let the Zionists settle in what is now western Kenya, since at the time the idea of an independent palestinian state didn't seem to be in the cards.

Suppose the Jews had accepted it?

Pretty much the same thing as is now going on, just somewhere else. Unless Kenya had enough unoccupied farmland for the Jews to settle without displacing any natives, you'd get conflict, which would lead to war, which would lead to hatred. It might not be quite as virulent without the holy sites over which to fight, but I'd not place any bets on it.

There's been a book come out recently on the shameful conduct of British and white settler security forces in Kenya during the Mau mau uprising in the 1950s, so's any Jewish settlement there would probably have involved the Jewish inhabitants in the same mess.
