No Falklands, Chile instead

Just an idea I was thinking about: if the Argentine military wanted a conflict to "save" the regime, could be possible to them in 1982 decide to attack Chile over the islands of Beagle Channel rather than invade the Falklands? How could it be achieved? And how could fare Argentina against Chile almost four years after the incidents of December 1978?

Well, for once, most of the troops are still in place, that's why we send soldiers from the northern border instead of the southern ones who were actually trained and geared for mountain and winter combat operations...

For once, the Pope has already mediated...

Secondly, the generals in charge are the ones pissed about not having invaded Chile in the first place, but they are already on board with the generals on the whole let's invade the Malvinas plan...

You'd need to go back to 1981 and have Galtieri replaced, not by General Jose Antonio Vaquero, the option to replace him, but with someone like General Mason or Menendez, both of which were out of action and thus unelectable since the whole beagle islands fiasco
