Ok, NBS is ready to call the state of New York and it's 31 electoral votes for President Santos
TT That is amazing, just when we where writing the President off, this race is not over yet.
Santos trails Walken by only 1 electoral vote now.

Walken 230 ev
Santos 229 ev
Toss-up 72 ev
Polls still open 7 ev

SEABORN WINS SENATE SEAT; PROMISES THAT "EVERYDAY, I WILL REMEMBER YOU."

Senator-elect Seaborn, briefly overcome with emotion

Sam Seaborn, the longtime White House staffer, was elected to the United States Senate from California, over District Attorney Richard Lassiter.

From his headquarters in Los Angeles, Seaborn appeared onstage shortly after NBS called the race for him, winning with 53% of the vote. He had several volunteers and members of his campaign onstage with him, but most prominent were his wife Lauren, and surprisingly, Democratic National Committee Chairman Josh Lyman and his girlfriend Donna Moss.

Seaborn started off by thanking the crowd, but gave little mention of his opponent, who many in the Seaborn campaign and press thought ran an extremely negative campaign.

Then, using that trademarked Seaborn idealism, said this:
If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, stop. You have your answer, spoken by millions of Americans, young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, who seek a better life for themselves, their children, their friends and neighbors. It's the answer that led those who've been told for so long by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day. That answer is that there is hope, there is a new, brighter day, not just coming tomorrow, but here now today!"

After a brief pause, in which Seaborn seemed to struggle to control his emotions, he concluded with this: "It has been a long night, and there is so much work to be done ahead of us. The office I have been honored to have been chosen for is not mine, it's yours. So I'm going to promise you this: Everyday, I will remember you. I will never forget the people who have voted me into office, and I will work until there is no strength left in my body for you.
Thank you, thank you all so much! God bless you all, God bless California, and God bless the United States of America!"

Here is another call.
With 95% reporting we are ready to call the state of Nevada and it's 5 electoral votes to President Santos.
TT- Those five votes have put President Santos ahead in the electoral college. Suddenly he could actually pull this off.

Walken 230 EV
Santos 234 EV
TCTC 67 EV
Polls still to close 7 EV

Don't get cocky, kid...

Actually, I want Vermont and/or Texas to be the one that trips up the election...if Santos won, he'd have a Democratic majority. And we've seen what happens in real life when we had a President and his party in power...

Santos had a House majority, no Senate. But his House "backup" had major problems-Sellner was an ineffective leader, and wouldn't cooperate, and the majority was only 4 votes. So not a lot of good solid legislative support.

Republicans have a Senate majority at the moment, and probably aren't going to lose it, while the Democrats are gaining in the House.

It looks like that a re-count is to take place in Vermont, where the margin between the two candiadtes is just 500 votes for Glen Walken.
TT- Vermont looks like it is not going to be declared soon, so it is now to down to Texas and Florida.
Now with the polls yet to close in Alaska and Hawaii, if we allocate this two states the way we expect, Alaska goes to Walken, and Hawaii to Santos, it leaves the map like this.
PROJECTED MAP

Walken 236 ev
Santos 238 ev
TCTC 64 ev
It means if President Santos carries Texas, he wins the election, if Walken wins it, he wins, Florida and Vermont don't effect the result.

We are ready to call Florida and it's 27 electoral votes for President Walken, with 96 % reporting it looks Walken will carry the state by 1.7%.
TT-Oddly the map the map is now, Florida doesn't matter, because without Texas, the President will win re-election.
We are not calling Alaska, or Hawaii, but we are projecting them on our map now to make it easier to understand
PROJECTED MAP

Walken 263 ev (needs 7 ev to win)
Santos 238 ev (needs 32 ev to win)
TCTC 37 ev

We are now going to make an important announcement. Having looked at the polling figures and the current returns, we have decided to re-tract the state of Minnesota from President Santos back two to close to call.
Here is the map now...

Walken 263 ev (7 ev short)
Santos 228 ev (42 ev short)
TCTC 47 ev

Kuhio ascends in Hawaii

Not that it's a surprise to anyone out there, but former Honolulu mayor (resign to run is in effect in Hawaii) David Kuhio has been elected to be the next US senator from Hawaii. He won with approximately 77% of the vote over state senator Sarah Sloan. Kuhio emerged from the pack in late May as a primary challenger to incumbent Senator, Joanne White. Many wrote him off as a liberal looking to screw over the party, which was the message White conveyed to the people. But Kuhio focused and ran a brilliant campaign in the early stages.

His message of bringing change to Washington resonated strongly with voters, that and his popularity as a native Hawaiian running to represent the people of Hawaii struck a chord with voters. So much so, that by early August, with the polls looking bleak, White withdrew from the primary and instead decided to run for governor. And it has been smooth sailing for Kuhio ever since. With his wife and two children at the Moana Hotel on the Waikiki strip, Kuhio gave his acceptance speech.

"Today was the dawn of a new era. We have seen the rise of the voice of the Hawaiian people ascend to new heights in preparation for the change that is to come. After 117 years, the Hawaiian people will now truly have a voice in the government of the United States of America. And our voice is one that everyone can believe in. Change. Change that everyone can believe in. We can go to Washington and end the partisan bickering, we can go to Washington to facilitate the change we need. We can. And we will! Thank you all, and god bless Hawaii and the United States of America!"

Its now coming up to 4.00 am in the morning and this race has proved as dramtic and exciting as many believed it would be.
Now it's over to the Walken camp in Kansas City, Missouri, I believe we have some important news.
Brooke,
BW- Yes Mark we have just a briefing from the Walken camp, they believe that they have won Texas , they are telling us by around 14,000 votes, they also belive that they will carry Vermont after the re-count.
