Correction, it was in two components from 1947 to 1971.

I know it's not actually covered by the thread title, but I was wondering if there was an OTL map for 1250 B.C.?

The problem is that that far back, the definition of nation-state was very loose, nay, practically nonexistant. The boundaries would be even more impossible to discern.

So, sorry, but no ISOT flag for you.

Ah darn. I was hoping to make a map series based on the actual ISOT series.

Meh, it wouldn't be hard. Just spread a little white in the four Cradles of Civilization and Greece, and you already have a base map.

True enough. There simple weren't that many civilizations around then.

Roberto, here is the first map I've attempted using the modification to the method I told you about (see next post). Now when you look on the map the year will actually be ON the map. In addition I will write the year in standard form in the post.

It's 1950 and I've corrected the East German border (which always looked unhealthy in many maps) and corrected the status for Cyrenaica, Maldives, the Trucial States (wouldn't have an end to British protection until the 1970s) and Oman (1951) and I corrected the border for British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland trusteeship. Plus I corrected the colour for Indonesia (previously it was the same colour as France so I used the colour straight from the UCS you posted in the opening post).

Oh and I put back the border with South Africa and South-West Africa since SWA was never officially annexed.

That's far too many colours, and that Australia colour is awful. Also, Afghanistan and Iraq are coloured incorrectly.

A little bit. Georgia is messed up. Why show South Ossetia as part of Russia?

The border in the NW corner of Sudan needs to be fixed, the boundary alignment for that part of the Sudanese border was actually the same in 1950 as it is today.

I went ahead and fixed the aformentioned border problem in NW Sudan, so here's the fixed map.

Just a reminder for anyone doing OTL world maps, just remember that between 1976 and 1979, former Spanish Sahara was partitioned between Morocco and Mauritania as shown on this map I made on the fly.

Er...how?
They're currently under US occupation. The map showed that quite well.

WellI was under the impression that more than one country is occupying Iraq, and, going by the key on the first page of this thread, Afghanistan is not de facto controlled by the United States.
