AH Euro 2012 Football Championship

EDIT: Squad database

So, in the spirit of the AH World Cup 2010 and the AH Asian Cup 2011 the Alternate History Football Association (AHFA) is proud to present:

The 2012 AHFA European Football Championship!

The format will be similar to the other threads, feel free to look through them for information on how the tournament went (especially the AHWC).

I'll try and be more informative and what not for those who didn't take part in the last one once exams are finished tomorrow.

Firstly, we need teams. We'll aim for 16 first, with only one per person. There is the possibility of opening it out to 24 teams or more than one per person if there is call for it. Feel free to have some odd teams, in the AHWC we had such memorable competitors as a communist Scotland, the Byzantine and Timur Empires, the CSA and Tatarstan. Just try an make them not overlap.

Please use the format below, as before.

Here's my entry:
Team: Southern German Federation (map - basically B-W, Bavaria and Austria)
Nickname: The Alpines
Home Stadium: Fußball Arena München
Home Kit: Light blue shirt and gold shorts
Away Kit: Black shirt and white shorts

Well, UEFA does have Israel, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan in its ranks but I would think a nation outside of geographic Europe would have to justify its reason for participating in this tournament.

Wait until Martin gives the green light to take the teams to 24, alright? And I feel like most of the remaining teams should be mediocre to decent in skill level. No more super powers. I think Catalonia, both German teams, The northern Italian team, England, and to a lesser extent the Celtic Union, Spain, the other Italian team, the Slavic team, and the Russian team also could be considered. Just my opinion.

I think we should extend it to 24. We can drum up another 7 people easily enough. Also, I think making the lower dice roll boundary for favored teams a 3 is too high. Can we drop that to a 2? And get rid of the home field advantage, since it's not like the stadiums are going to be packed with home fans.

I'm out of town right now, but I'll get around to updating Denmark-Norway in a few days.

((OOC(just if anyone is confused): The USRS is not a Slavic nation. Its people speak Romance languages(i.e. Venedic, Silesian/Bohemian, Slevan, and Ruthenian) that look like Slavic languages (Polish, Czech, Slovak, and Ukrainian, respectively)

Also, I think that major football powerhouses would include . . .

-The USRS
-North/South Germany
-Catalonia
-The 9 Serene Republics

(Just my opinion.)

The borders of the Russian Federated States also has Lviv/Lvov under the control of the Ukrainian Autonomous Territory. Other than that, I've also included a good number of non-Russians on the RFS team.

Actually, the USRS controls and administers the Lvov(known in Ruthenian as Читать Лейоніор/Chytat' Lejonior) area as part of the state of Galicja(Галичия/Halychiya) and has been since the Ruthenian people petitioned to join the union in 1918.

((Could be one reason for the intense rivalry between the USRS and RFS teams))

Since there seems to be a demand for 24 teams...

Team: The Duchy of Toulouse
Nickname: The Violets
Home Stadium: Stade du Garonne, Toulouse
Home Kit: Violet shirts, a gold stripe down the left side; gold pants; white socks
Away Kit: Gold Shirts, Two Red Diagonal Slashes, upper-right to lower-left; Red Pants; Gold Socks

Basically, Languedoc, Provence, at least part of Savoy, Gascony...
(can someone do up some kits for me?)

Granted, I may be a bit biased, making a team so late, but why are we seeding based on when the team was created?
