Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Yes, I have done it. I have done what few AH.Commers have done and lived to tell the tale. I have compiled every map using the UCS World Map based and brought them up to date UCS-wise. The colors are as universalised as I could be buggered to do, so some maps may be slightly off (I fixed any glaring error color-wise, though).

Also, all of my maps are named under a system. It's fairly simple: the file name is blankworldUCS [year]. A '-' is added before the year number if it is BC (like a negative sign). If you are going to add your own maps to this thread, it would be most convenient if you were to follow the naming rubric. If you are updating a map, save it as the same file name, but with 'v.2' to show that it is any updated version of the map. So therefore, if you are going to update the map of 1600, you would write blankworldUCS 1600 v.2. This rubric is so somebody looking for basemaps can easily open the attachment window and look through the map filenames and find what they need.

Here is the UCS I've been using. However, I must admit that I tweaked it a little, such as using Aragon's color for the Two Sicilies and giving Tibet a color in the medieval maps. (this reflects on the maps, not the UCS).

Someone should do this with the big Europe map.

I'm sorry, this has been bugging me with so many maps but...

What the hell is up with Uruguay in that map, and so many other maps? Does it control Misiones and Corrientes? That area does not really appear to correspond to the misiones orientales, which were given to Brazil in 1829, so definitely shouldn't be part of Uruguay in 1885 anyway.

New Mexico/Arizona borders had been redrawn by then?

Yes, the present configuration of the Arizona/New Mexico border was established by the 1870s.

While I support this idea, we must first get permission from The Saint before it's official!

Correction, it was in two components from 1947 to 1971.

Hi,
Does anyone have a map of northern Italy in any time from 1183 to 1200 (i believe borders did not change in that time) includig the states that made up the Kingdom of Italy in the HRE? I've searched the web and several threads to no avail.
A map of the HRE with said small states would also be good. If Florence and Venice could be included too all the better.

Thanks,
Jim

It does, but it doesn't go into that amount of detail, it just shows it as the HRE.

The closest I can find is this 1084 one from Wikipedia: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...084_v2.svg.png

Does anyone have a base map from circa 1184 BC? Fall of troy, Greeks under Agamemnon and Menelaus, collapse of Hittites?

How do you show that one nation has claimed another? The UCS on the first page doesn't give detail as to how you show it and so I'm a little confused, if someone could show me on an actually map or something that'd be great, thanks
