changes in attitude, ethics and etc...

It is perhaps easier to posit ah scenarios of the
nature of 'the south wins the US civil war', etc.,
than what I propose here, but I am going to give it a
try nonetheless. Many fundamental changes occurring
in individual societies and in the world as a whole
happen because some fundamental attitude or behavior,
long seen as right and normal, changes somehow in a
society, at least to the point of acceptance by the
majority culture, after which time the attendant
changes in question become possible, even sometimes
inevitable. Sometimes a war or other similar major
event creates the change, but other times, the changes
are more subtle. Examples of the former include the
Holocaust's virtual negation of official
anti-semitism, 'A Gentleman's Agreement'-style, in the
US, and the War's spur on elimination of racial
segregation, whereas examples of the latter would
likely include the ever-increasing acceptance of
things like homosexuality, feminism, and abortion
here. The question would thus be phrased, thus:

1)What types of events are responsible for the latter
types of developments, not motivated by wars or such...

2)What would have happened, say, in the USA, had racial segregation and quasi-official second-class status for the black folks not been more or less
eliminated in the late 40s-70s 'Civil Rights' era?

3)Flip this one around-- posit that Jim Crow never developed and 'Reconstruction' continued the process of full-fledged integration of blacks which was then completed by 1900 or so?

4)Say there had been no Holocaust-- consequences for
Jews, etc.?

5)Imagine that, after Roe v Wade, public outcry was so loud that Congress was forced to amend the Constitution and reverse the USSC?

6)Posit necessary ATL changes that would have prevented the election of a draft-dodger like the Slickster, and examine the consequences of such a TL?

7)Play around with attitude changes that would affect the decision of the US to/ not to enter WWI? WWII? Korea and Vietnam? Seek independence from Britain?

8)Posit changes that would have seen the US remain a 1950s-style Ozzie and Harriet culture, avoiding the fast changes that came to be known as 'The Sixties'?

For extra credit, use this same theme on other ah
scenarios as well.
