What would happen if the Romanian dictator, President Nicolai Ceausescu, had succeeded in crushing the revolution that toppled in in OTL? Would he (or his sucessor) still be in power to this day?
I wonder if, in order to try and obtain oil wealth and thus prolong his regime, he'd have "done a Sadddam" and invaded Moldovia (which I believe has oilfields)?
