What's Happened Here?

I just got two maps, both from around 1936. ONe is a map of the country's empires, and one is about there system of government.

Are these 2 maps from the same timeline? Some of the boundaries from the 2 different maps don't match - for example 1 of them shows Mongolia and the Baltic states as part of the Russian Empire, while the other shows them as having different types of government from Russia.

My first reaction is that the USA in this timeline did a lot more overseas imperialism and was much less isolationist than in OTL. It participated in the "scramble for Africa" and took a piece of southern China. In WWI, it got involved much earlier and in a bigger way, and added many of Germany's former colonial possessions to its own. After WWI, ultra-Nationalists in Russia defeated the Bolsheviks and other factions, while communists seized power in Italy and then in Germany a few years later - basically a reversal of the roles in OTL. The Great Depression hit the US even harder than in OTL, and increasing poverty plus growing opposition to the heavy US commitments to overseas colonies led to a socialist being elected in 1932. In 1933, however, the military mounted a successful coup that overthrew the socialist administration and made the US a de-facto military dictatorship after defeating most of the opposition.

One problem though, Stalin is listed as the leader of Russia. Although you could say that Stalin supported a different side in the Civil War.

It is worth pointing out that Sweden is the only monarchy in Europe,I wonder how this happened.

I was assuming that through some odd twist of events Stalin became an ultra-nationalist while Hitler and Mussolini became communists. I can see the possibility with Mussolini and Stalin - Mussolini was a socialist until WWI, and Stalin in OTL showed a strong streak of Russian nationalism even though he wasn't an ethnic Russian by background and the political system he ruled was supposed to completely discard nationalism. Having Hitler as a communist seems very difficult to explain - as far as I know he was nationalistic and anti-socialist from a pretty young age in OTL.

This looks as if during the time when TR was supposed to be president. McKinnely was not killed and so the trusts took greater power in the United States. This would explain why Cuba a sugar producing nation is under the auspices of the United States as well as some of the portions of South America a major fruit producing region. This may also explain why thier is a American colony in China. The trusts may have used thier power to force the door open so they can exploit the resources of Asia. The domestic scene may have also resulted because maybe the trusts put down the workers even further and then bought the elections. Then with thier repersenatives in place could have pushed through legislation that would have made voting harder such as poll taxes, literacy tests etc.
