As General Erickson came thru the Door He was already snapping out Orders, of course you don't get to be the Four Star in charge of The largest military Base in East Sweden by being indecisive.

Three hours later Some kind of Sense was beginning to emerge, The first Photo reconicese planes had returned, The Nafabor Base at Murkinsk was on Alert, as expected, but, the photos from Estonia, Latvia, and St. Petersburg. "Could the destruction of these cities be the Light we saw 3 hrs ago" The photo intell officer answered " I'm afraid not. Our first best guess, is the Attack was somewhere around 40 yrs ago" "Ok, what about these photos of Stockholm & Oslo" Again the Intell Officer " It's not exact, but It's like looking at photos from the mid forties, just after the Nafabor War" "Does that mean we have somehow slipped Back in Time". another Officer "No the Russian photos, and the Radio Traffic from south of the Baltic, like a whole lots of new Neighbors." General again "I want all recon planes returned Immeditally, If we have somehow slipped SideWays in Time, We don't want to make our new Neighbors mad by peeking in their Windows." I want a Watch keep on Our Neighbors a Murkinsk, It seems they may be all that's left of the Rodina." - Reports start coming in of a series of massive explosions, forest fires and road accidents, with many of the major cities and areas of Austro-Hungary, including Vienna and Budapest simply seeming to have simply 'disappeared'.
- A lack of central control structure leads to widespread fires, flooding and general chaos in the first few hours following the event.

- Scout and artillery gliders are launched from Kijev, Lemberg and Kolsovar air bases to establish the situation and determine the extent of the problems. Preliminary reports seem innacurate and inconsistant.
- Martial law is declared in the main cities, with the military siezing key
industries and services 'in the name of the Empress' and setting up temporary central headquarters in Kijev.
- Photographic evidence from the scout missions establishes a new boundary for the Austro-Hungarian nation, with all land outside that boundary alien and unfamiliar.

- Radiograph coverage is resumed, with public service announcements and news reports being broadcast 24 hours simultaniously on all frequencies.
- A strict set of guidelines are issued that include civilians not being permitted to traverse beyond the 'new borders', a citizen curfew and suspension of many civil rights.

- With the 'Empress', as well as much of the country, missing; rioting and pillaging ensues in the cities and towns. Many are arrested.

General Erickson needed to make a decision. After what had happened the last two days, It wasn't easy. It had started at 1500 hrs [3 pm] Sunday, the first reports had been strange. Stories about a great Dome of Light over the whole Country. All Radar Signals bouncing back as if the wall was real. And then after one minute vanishing as if it never was.

And then the reports started, The Radio links with the Capital in Stockholm were Down. The Telefono lines to west Sweden were out. So was the Electric system. Fortunally the station monitoring the Nafobor Rodina naval base at Murmansk, seemed to indicate that they were as confused as we were. But that seemed to one of the only bright spots in those first hours.

Thro the Military channels had been cut with Sweden the Civilian Radio hadn't been, And the Broadcasts they were picking up. By 1600 hrs the first of the SR5's* were in the Air, flying over Russia, and Sweden, and along the Baltic Coast to the South, with orders to retreat at speed, if challenged by Radar. Some of them Flew as far as the Med, and North Seas.

As General Erickson looked around the Room at the other men sitting there , his mind went back over his Career, and He realized his decision wasn't hard at all.

" Ok You have all seen the photos of what was Russia, and the Ruins of St Petersburg, Moscow, and the other cites. Along with the photos of a different Sweden and Europe. Admiral Joseph Churchill , of the Anglo-Frankish North Fleet, Stood beside King William, as they watched the Strange Planes Touch down. Three Days ago his Falcon Class Planes, on his 4 carriers had been the most powerful War birds Known. Now Looking at these new planes, He realized they were as old fashioned as the Biplanes that the Swedish were replacing with their version of the Falcon. The Third one [C-5 airlifter, analogue] touched down. Larger than the first two It looked large enuff to carry a whole Company of troops.

King William, of the House Plantagenet, King By the Grace of God, of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and the Colonies of North Braxile, Stood on the Civilian Airstrip outside Stockholm, Most of the Military had wanted this at the Air Base, as easier to control. Unfortunally this was the only Airstrip with long enuff runways.

Three long days had been enuff to completely change the world. He, William had been Golfing with his Advisors, and the Admiral at 1400 hrs [2 pm] Sunday when that Dome of Light had appeared. We will just have to increase the Rationing till we can find other Sources, perphaps the Mid East, or North Africa." Mayor Järvinen of Vyborg was Worried, It had been 10 days since that Light show had changed everything. First all Communication with St Petersburg was Lost, The young Nafabor Luetenant Had sent a Squad south to see what had happened. They had returned with stories of the Road just ending, and terrible photos of Destruction beyond. Then had started stories of several of the smaller Villages being Raided, the Stories sounded like the return of the Vikings. The problem is they seemed to be working there way along Lake Ladaga, Vyborg was at the end of the Lake on the Gulf of Finland.

Luetenant Heikkinen had objected to this Meeting till the reports of what had happened to some of the prettiest Girls like his Anna-Liisa had surfaced.

After all the Mayors of the smaller surrounding villages, had their say, Mayor Järvinen Got up " You have all heard the Stories, the Rodina is no More. While the few Young Soldiers like Luetenant Heikkinen here will fight to the Death to protect us, there are not enuff of them. nor do they have the supplies, they need. We need a Army to protect us, and we know where one is."

Then this, this... This Morning a Swedish spy plane had flown over the camp, and no one bothered with a Alert. It had dropped two message tubes, one addressed to Him and the other to the photo intelligence section. And the Stupid Idiot of a Leutentant had sent the tube to the section. The Admiral looked at the Computer Screen were it was showing the photos of Russia, Or the Ruins of Russia. By Now the intell section had classified the Info Top Secret, which meant the whole camp would know by Evening. As the first of the ten Hesperian Liners pulled into the hastily repaired Wharf, The 3 legions aboard could see the Hesperian Battle Fleet anchored off shore. There wasn't must left of the City. Between the Bombing before and the Shelling during the Battle. Every time the Germans had tried to Hole up in a Building, the Allies had called in Artillery fire. After a 18 inch High explosive shell landed on a Building, there wasn't enuff left to worry anyone.

New Hamburg had been the third largest City in the Kaukasus. With a Population, of 250,000 Germans, and 700.000 Slavs. The word Slave, had originally come from the Word Slav, and that was what they had been here. On the Hills above the City, one could see the remains of the Villas where the Rich Germans had lived. While in the center of the city, was a the remains of the clean modern downtown where most of the Germans had lived.

Outside the City in the swampy tidelands along the beach where the shacks & shanties, built from the rubble of the out city of Sochi, were the majority of the population had lived. Unlike the German Section there had been little war damage, or at least this war.
