GAH: Dogger Island

WI the British Isles looked like this:

That is Dogger Bank somehow ends up above sea level at the end of the last ice age.
Yes it is ASB but GAH is not counted as such these days. Also its not THAT far fetched, it has been a island at many points and its pretty high to begin with.

We can assume plant/animal wise its somewhat similar to Ireland i.e. a slightly less rich Britain.
However for climate and terrain and all that...Well thats the entire point of part of this.

The sea south of Dogger is going to be quite calm. We could see an early trading culture developing around it.

Doggerland

Doggerland (=google key) is one of those 'fun' places, that vanished beneath the waves at end of last ice-age...

Depending on era, it was a triangular plain filling almost our entire 'North Sea' from Norway to Dutch coast to Dover...

IIRC, there was a 6.1 quake under Dogger Bank in 1931...

Having such a large island in the North (West) Sea would generate calm waters south of it and leaving a much larger Frisian coastal area with a much larger landmass on the Danish south west coast and on the west coast of Sleswig leaving many islands that the sea claimed over the centuries.
The west coast of Jutland would retain many of its Fiords to this day.

A thriving culture would live around the South West Sea and the Dogger Island would link up populations in Denmark and England with the Frisians on the coast that would in later times develop into the Great Thalassocracy of todays England, Denmark, North West Germany, Netherlands and Flanders.

what if that quake had been stronger and somehow made the island rise up in 1931
What it be like today?

More interesting - how would this affect WWII...
Having such a large island in between Germany and England!!! Denmark might have gotten its alliance with England in 1932. The first major battle after Poland could have been the Panzer battles of Dogger Island. With superior Luftwaffe the Germans would have attacked Denmark and after conquering Jutland have made a crossings into the Dogger Island moving westwards encountering 1st Armoured Division, some Infantry divs and French and Polish Infantry. With superior German troops the invasion of the British Isles would take place near Flamborough Head.

Now that truly is in the realms of proper ASB.

On my picture I just took wikipedia's picture of where dogger bank is. Land in the north sea has indeed at varying times all been at weird levels (originally I thought of altering the British isles even more but am too lazy/busy).
And yeah there probally would be knock on effects on other bits of land in the area paricularly the Netherlands but meh.

Calm waters hmm- could we get a 'decent' northerly ancient civilization?

And no one picked up the not-so-hidden meaning of the name of the topic
